According to a poll published in the New York Daily News on Monday, May 13,2007 New York City voters would prefer current Mayor Michael Bloomberg over former Mayor Rudy Giuliani for president of the United States! Forty-six percent of those polled said Bloomberg would make a better president than Giuliani while 29 percent chose Giuliani over Bloomberg, according to the poll conducted for the Daily News.
As of today, Bloomberg repeatedly has said he has no plans to enter the race. However, should Bloomberg decide to run, Republican Sen. Chuck Hegel of Nebraska suggested the two of them might make a good ticket. Bloomberg succeeded Giuliani as mayor, winning election in 2001 shortly after the September 11 attacks. He was re-elected in 2005.

Still a long road ahead of us….we shall see…

Aren’t police officers on a daily “high-risk-job” doing their duty??
In response to the Sean Bell Trial, a grand jury voted yesterday to indict three city police detectives, in the killing of the 23-year-old Bell. Bell died in a burst of police bullets outside a Queens strip club hours before he was to be wed last year.

Several lawyers involved in the case have argued that while the officers might have used poor tactics and bad judgment, and might have been poorly supervised, they Did Not commit a crime.
Many spectators following this story agree that the “police officers” reacted to the situation accordingly — that when they’re confronted by deadly physical force, they should have the authority to use deadly physical force in return……to prevent it from being used against them.”
The grand jury reached its decision after three days of deliberations, and nearly two months of hearing evidence in an emotionally charged case.
In Jamaica there was a sense of relief that at least some of the officers would face charges. “As long as I know that somebody got something,” said one viewer.
On the other hand, lawyers for the indicted officers criticized the grand jury’s action.
Well, many believe that the “Jury System” in N.Y. is indeed “lop-sided” and needs drastic changes. Says Anne with her recent court case experience, “The Judge literally read through the “Times” newspaper while sitting on our court trial!!”

So what else is new?? That is not new to New Yorkers…

Are you one of the millions who shop and dine Only with credit cards? Recent studies found that 70% of shoppers use credit cards as oppose to cash. In the “dining” category….90% paid via credit card!
Many seem to think that paying with “cash” is not classy! One friend reveals to me “When dining out, I wouldn’t dream of paying with cash! My girlfriend would probably frown at me!“….He adds… “I honestly have never seen someone pay with cash at a fine dining restaurant!”
I would think that cash would be preferred so the restaurant could avoid the credit card fee, but at the same time, Mark, owner of a “high end restaurant”, claims that “we actually prefer that our clients pay with a charge card….This reduces the cash on hand, which reduces the risk of theft!”
On a “sanitized” note: Another friend quoted…”isn’t cash considered “dirty” and full of germs by many?
And my question is…. “IS” Money the only object in this planet that has germs??

When you are dating and become aware that your partner has a healthy bank account you automatically assume this person is mature. You also take it as an indication that he or she takes life seriously and is not wasteful…..Oh…yes…so now you may have your first headstart to romance!

Does a good paying job really make the difference in todays inner relationships??

Some said, “It’s definitely something to consider a “potential mate’s finances.”……It’s on their A-List…
A recent study found the average American household uses about 25 gallons of toxic, hazardous chemical products (cleaning products) per year to clean their home! Is it really necessary for all those detergents to be abused daily??
“The Prevention Strategy for Industry and Consumers” report that….”It is time to slow down a bit and stop using these harsh cleaning products daily!” Some claim there are various alternatives to those toxic cleaning stuff…to name one product is “baking soda” which cleans and refreshes refrigerators and other appliances! On the other hand, some women tell me “only clorox will do the job!”

SO….How can we get the toxins out of your homes?

White House employees who worked under both administrations, report that when George and Laura Bush moved into the White House in 2001, staffers were relieved.
White House staffers are quick to note that Laura was apparently the opposite of Hillary! They claim while the Clintons’ weren’t friendly, George and Laura Bush are “very courteous!”
White House elevator operator, Harold W. Hancock once told a visitor about the Bushes: “I love these people. The previous inhabitants never knew my name.”
With the “run-for-the-president” deeply set in, Hillary is trying to build up her image. With Vanity Fair Magazine backing her, it might just help!…But…here comes advice for the Clintons….first take care of the Charity Tax Scheme! AND….then…only time will tell…….

With all the controversy lately about celebrities adopting, the media has reported some names of celebrities who are NOT adopting. While some applaud (to name a few who did adopt courageously) Madonna, Angelina Jolie, and Sharon Stone - others oppose and feel that celebrities are being a bit selfish, by bypassing a pregnancy….which they will not be bothered. They fear it will interfere with their career… which may be true to a degree. So, some Stars opt for adoption - a.k.a. “The Quick-Fix family.” On the contrary, I can attest about a good friend (celebrity) of mine trying to get pregnant and have a child. Unfortunately, she’s encountering fertility problems. I had given her the green light for adoption….but she is still contemplating the issue….She fears the pros and cons out there…
What do YOU think of adoption? Feel free to comment on this topic…..
