United States citizens still remember freshly when the postage rates last went up in January of 2006. The big question we are all asking is…..Why another increase so soon? Well, we’ve got to grin and bare it!
Starting today, Monday, May 14, 2007 a first-class letter will go up 2 cents making it 41 cents.
As an added service, the U.S. Postal Service will issue the Forever stamp, which will always be valid as First-Class postage on standard envelopes weighing one ounce or less, regardless of any subsequent increases in the First-Class rate. The stamp art depicts the Liberty Bell, which is perhaps the most prominent and recognizable symbol associated with American independence.

According to a poll published in the New York Daily News on Monday, May 13,2007 New York City voters would prefer current Mayor Michael Bloomberg over former Mayor Rudy Giuliani for president of the United States! Forty-six percent of those polled said Bloomberg would make a better president than Giuliani while 29 percent chose Giuliani over Bloomberg, according to the poll conducted for the Daily News.
As of today, Bloomberg repeatedly has said he has no plans to enter the race. However, should Bloomberg decide to run, Republican Sen. Chuck Hegel of Nebraska suggested the two of them might make a good ticket. Bloomberg succeeded Giuliani as mayor, winning election in 2001 shortly after the September 11 attacks. He was re-elected in 2005.
Still a long road ahead of us….we shall see…

A latest study, according to panelists at a scientific meeting, discussing the benefits - and risks - of the beverage, “drinking coffee” can help ward off type 2 diabetes and may even help prevent certain cancers! The study which was conducted at The Harvard School of Public Health found evidence that the beverage may protect against certain types of colon cancer, as well as rectal and liver cancer, possibly by reducing the amount of cholesterol.
“It’s not like we’re promoting coffee as the new health food and asking people who don’t like coffee to drink coffee for their health,” says Dr. Rob van Dam of Harvard School. “Just don’t look at coffee as such a negative health image.”
Of course, findings suggest that people who may be extremely vulnerable to caffeine, pregnant women, and children — should limit their coffee consumption.
Stay Healthy…..

Can’t wait till you have your cup of coffee in the morning?? No need to be groggy in the morning. Help is on the way - and that is a “caffeinated bar of soap.”
Inventors have created a soap infused with caffeine which helps users wake up in the morning.
The soap, called Shower Shock, supplies the caffeine equivalent of two cups of coffee per shower-wash! The manufacturers claim that as a person lathers him or herself with the Shower Shock soap it releases caffeine which absorbs in the body.
The caffeine will last in your system for approximately four hours. They’re time-savers as you don’t have to wait around for your coffee to brew in the morning.
Whatever you prefer, Enjoy!!

The “Census Bureau Report” revealed that more and more new mothers are returning to the labor force within a year after giving birth. In 1998, nearly 59 percent of new mothers were working, compared to 51 percent in 1988…. and 31 percent in 1976 - the first year the Census Bureau tracked such numbers.
No, not all of those 2.2 million women are working a “40-hour” week job! Many moms return to work with the option of having flexible schedules, telecommuting from home and running home-based businesses. With a tight labor market, more and more businesses are making it attractive for new mothers to return to work.
A report also found that the marital status of “working mothers” are affected — fortunately, for the better! Marital relationships have improved when new mothers take up part time jobs.
Moms, whatever you decision is, have fun!
